About Me

Jackie M. M. Gonzales, PhD, is a research historian with Historical Research Associates, Inc. At HRA, Gonzales writes administrative and organizational histories, including an administrative history of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. She conducts oral histories, researches and writes to support environmental litigation , and curates interpretive exhibits.

Gonzales previously worked for the National Park Service (NPS) as an interpretive employee at Cape Cod National Seashore, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, and Manzanar National Historic Site. Gonzales also spent several years working for environmental policy organizations in Albany, NY.

Outside of her public history work, Gonzales is completing a book manuscript based on her dissertation, Coastal Parks for a Metropolitan Nation: How Postwar Politics Shaped America’s Shores.
