About Me

Laura A. Belmonte is Associate Dean for Instruction and Personnel of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of History at Oklahoma State University. A specialist in the history of U.S. foreign relations, she is author of Selling the American Way: U.S. Propaganda and the Cold Warand numerous articles on cultural diplomacy. She is also co-author of Global Americans: A Transnational U.S. History and editor of Speaking of America: Readings in U.S. History. Her Global Gay Rights: A History of the International LGBT Movement will be published by Bloomsbury and will appear in Tom Zeiler’s series “New Approaches to International History.” Her next major project examines the history of U.S. global policy on HIV/AIDS. She has served on the U.S. Department of State’s Historical Advisory Committee on Diplomatic Documentation since 2009.
