Catherine Larochelle is an Assistant professor in the department of history at Université de Montréal.
She defended her dissertation, titled “L’apprentissage des Autres : la construction rhétorique et les usages pédagogiques de l’altérité à l’école québécoise (1830-1915)”, in 2018.
Her research interests intersect the history of childhood and youth, history of Orientalism and the imperial imagination of Quebec / Canada, colonial history, history of emotions, history of education, representations of indigenous peoples and history of French Canadian missionary movement.
She is a member of the editorial board of HistoireEngagée.ca
