- About Me
- I am a writer and historian, interested in the history of science and material culture, with BA and MS/MA degrees in history and anthropology and a PhD in history and philosophy of science from Arizona State University. I am currently a visiting researcher at the Institute for Historical Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. - I live in Austin where I enjoy rock climbing and mountain biking.

- My writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Nautilus, Slate, History Today, Electric Literature, JSTOR Daily, Los Angeles Review of Books, TIME, as well as The Public Domain Review to name a few. - My books include: Bookshelf; Seven Skeletons: The Evolution of the World’s Most Famous Human Fossils; and The Last Lost World: Ice Ages, Human Origins, and the Invention of the Pleistocene (co-authored.) I am currently writing Genuine Fakes: A Biography of Authenticity.
