About Me
  1. I am a historian of 20th Century America, with an emphasis on race, education, and politics. My most recent project considers the movement to desegregate schools and gain equality of educational resources in the pre-Brown era.  I also have conducted extensive research in the area of women’s history.
  2. I am a graduate of the Department of History at Princeton University, where I also earned a certificate of Gender & Sexuality. I also hold a Master’s in African American Studies from Columbia University and a BA in History from Dartmouth College.
  3. Recently, the National Association of Education awarded me a Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship. I also am a Mellon Fellow and have earned numerous other awards and grants.
  4. I am an experienced teacher at the university and high school level; I am also a writing coach. (See: tripleivy.com.) I currently reside in Chicago, IL.
